MId-Week Marauders

There will be an ELCC Mid-Week Marauders at the Alameda & Rio Grande Open Space on Wed., Oct 21 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Directions when coming from the West Side: On Alameda, just east of the River, turn right just after a Brown sign that says "Alameda and Rio Grande Open Space." There are two parking lots, assume there will be space in the west lot, so turn right and head west to the parking lot.

Directions when coming west on Alameda from the East: Although there is no visible sign to turn off when driving west, it's about 1/4 mile west of a small intersection with traffic lights (Rio Grande Blvd, NW), about 1/8 mile before the river. There is a turn-off lane, so bear left and then turn left and then turn right when entering the parking area.

Let's meet at 9:00 am at the west end of the west parking lot (near the bike/walking path).

Should be good color in the trees and on the leaves on the ground.

The usual (e.g., pre Covid-19) Marauders process has been modified as follows:

 - No carpooling process

-  No lunch after photo-shooting

- Bring and wear a face mask

- Maintain social distancing

- Wear comfortable shoes

- Bring water and a hat

There were good turnouts for the four prior Marauders this year (averaging 14 people per outing) and some great images members posted on the club's Flickr Marauder site; so we hope to see at the Alameda Open Space.

It was a tough decision, but we ended up selecting Oct. 21 over Oct 14 so there would be less interference with other photo outings club members may be taking to see the foliage, plus, there is a good chance for fall colors in the trees as well as colorful leaves on the ground which can make for interesting images.
