Retired hospital CEO. Recently moved to Placitas from the south shore of Lake Superior near Ironwood, MI. Have been a serious photographer for over 50 years. Until digital photography I shot large and medium B&W images; 8x10 Deardorff; 4x5 & 5x7 Deardorff; and numerous 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch cameras. I had to sell my darkroom when I retired due to a septic system with our home on Lake Superior.
I am an advanced photographer who switched from a Deardorff 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 film camera years ago. Now use digital full frame with Photoshop and Lightroom Classic.
Retired hospital CEO. My level is advanced.

I am retiring from my "real" job and intend to pursue photography as a hobby. My BA degree was in B&W film photography and small metal sculpture back in the 70's. Other than the hobby of new world of digital photography, I am an old person competitive figure skater, I garden, read and love to travel.
I have fallen rather quickly back into photography and am a bit overwhelmed! I entered three images in the NM State Fair and from there, on a whim, submitted images to the APG and ANMPAS shows. Images were accepted into both shows. I am on a very steep learning curve as to what this really means, how to select images for various categories (I have had some epic fails), how to perfect technique in color with SOFTWARE, how to present images for shows in terms of printing (paper, metal, canvas, OH MY!) and matting, framing etc.! I am in serious need of help working with Lightroom 6 as well!!!!!
I have no idea what level photographer I am. I think I have a solid foundation for basic technique and composition but digital imaging is completely new to me. I feel like a beginner in this media. As for what type of photography I like, I am attracted to "street/candid" photography, landscapes, seascapes, architecture and architectural detail, texture/pattern and plants and insects (bees). I am not interested in Portraits or Weddings.
I found Enchanted Lens Photography Club and thought this would be an excellent place to begin to sort things out!
I am a retired middle school counselor and gymnastics coach.
I am the Vice Chair for Community Support and Development, Adult Skating Committee, U.S. Figure Skating. I have recently retired from skating due to a non-repairable ankle bone issue.
I love to travel, especially to Oberstdorf, Germany.
I have a tiny bit of black and white film photography in my distant past and have taken up digital photography now that I have time to devote to learning and discovery. I am not a composite image maker and prefer black and white. I do not work with artificial lighting, weddings or portraits. Anything else goes! I tend to work with detail, texture, snow, fog, water and things in the natural world. Photography is a passion of exploration and FUN. I enjoy the process of photography as much as the end results. I prefer to work on the camera end of things and use minimal post processing with my images.
I have been with ELCC since Oct. 2015 and LOVE what this club has to offer! I have found many friends among the photography enthusiast. The support for learning and sharing has been fantastic.

I am most interested in desert landscapes/nightscapes, but I also shoot a lot of birds--and my favorite animal: squirrels. Mostly, I am only photo-documenting petroglyphs these days, but I do want to do more with my other lapsed favorite subjects
I am somewhere between intermediate and advanced.
I'm an intermediate to advanced photographer. I'm mostly interested in desert landscapes and also like to photograph animals.
I'm a passionate intermediate landscape photographer. I also do animal shots. I live in Albuquerque; used to live in Farmington many years ago. Although I don't work in the field, I have PhD in geology, so rocks are a favorite subject!

After careers that have included business, writing, activism, finding photography created a new perspective on the world. I've been shooting now in a variety of genres for about five years with some success, but I'm still a long ways from where I expect to be. My goals are capture "a few things that are right with the world" with my camera.I’m a writer, activist and businessman. My hobbies are woodworking and photography which has become a passion in the last six or so years. I enjoy different of genres but most especially portraiture and wildlife. My skills are probably intermediate/advanced; I consider myself a student of photography and constantly strive to produce the best images I can. My mission is to capture a few good things that are right with the world.I'm a columnist, political consultant and busines owner.
I developed a passion for photography after I joined the ELCC. I appreciate that there's are a number of talented members who are very generous with sharing their knowledge.
Aside from that, I appreciate the news that is available in the club and that's why I continue to renew my membership even though I don't have the time to attend many meetings.
While I've taken lots of pics, I still consider myself to be in the intermediate class. I love shooting birds in flight, have done nature and landscapes and have been doing pots of portraiture lately. My mission as a photographer is to "capture a few things that are right with the world".
